Week of September 30, 2019

Dear Families, I hope you all had a wonderful week! This past week was a busy one. Students were introduced to their Battle of the Books teams and coaches. For the students that are doing Battle of the Books they should have brought home a t shirt form to fill out. Please send it back with your child as soon as you can! I am thrilled with all of the participants for the battle this year!

In science, we wrapped up our living things unit and had our first science quiz of the year. I was thrilled with everyone's success! It really showed that all student's put in the effort to study. I will be giving back these quizzes today and they need to be signed by a parent/guardian over the weekend. We started our plant unit on Wednesday and our big unit question is "How do plants eat/make their food?"

In writing, we have finally come out of our writer's notebook and began drafting our first narrative story. We chose the story we were most passionate about and will be revising and editing this piece for the next couple of weeks so we can publish our first story! Next week we will be focusing on our main event in the story and learning how to stretch it out like a movie scene by scene.

*Mark your calendar:

  • Sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences will open up THIS Wednesday October 9th on Fisher's home page. Conferences will be held 10/23 at night, 10/25 in the afternoon, and 10/29 at night.

Have a wonderful week!
